WebI bought a 1974 house last year and both the family room and living room have no overhead lighting. What took me a while to figure out was the one light switch in the living room controls only the top plug on all the outlets. The bottom outlet is always live, but the top is controlled by the switch, presumably to turn on and off lamps.
